Project V5 is a series of charitable programs designed to help us put our 5 values in action. The proceeds from scrap metal collected at our jobsites will be donated directly to local charities. December 2011Power Design and its employees participated in the All Children's Hospital toy drive this holiday season. All Children's Hospital is the only hospital on Florida's West Coast totally devoted to children's care. They are a leader in pediatric treatment, education, research and advocacy. |

November 2011Power Design teamed up with Winter Park Construction and Kicks 4 Kidz in a shoe drive event that provided athletic shoes to children in need. |

November 2011Power Design formed two corporate teams for the Tampa Bay Heart Walk. The Heart Walk is Tampa Bay's largest walking event, which provides the opportunity for people to improve their health by walking and raising funds to save lives from our country's No.1 and No. 3 killers, heart disease and stroke. |

November 2011Power Design provided sponsorship for the I Have a Dream Foundation of Miami, which motivates and empowers children from low income areas to reach their educational and career goals by providing a long-term program of mentoring, tutoring, and tuition assistance for higher education. |

October 2011In October, Power Design participated in the Suffolk Construction golf tournament benefiting the Home Safe Foundation, an organization dedicated to helping the victims of child abuse and domestic violence.

October 2011As a Big Dog sponsor for the annual Tampa Bay SPCA 3K Pet Walk, for the second year in a row Power Design helped the SPCA with its mission to care for animals in the community. Several employees and their pets participated in the event this October. |

September 2011Power Design employees participated in the Academy of Construction Technologies annual golf tournament benefiting youth and pre-apprenticeship programs in Florida's public schools. |

September 2011Power Design employees sponsored and attended the 2011 Tampa Bay Dueling Chefs Competition, an event benefiting the Children’s Cancer Center. The event placed two executive chefs from top Tampa Bay restaurants against each other in a battle to raise funds for the worthy cause.

May 2011Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County, Md., contributes to the rebirth and stabilization of neighborhoods that have experienced a high incidence of foreclosures. Power Design contributed a sponsorship for the organization’s sixth annual golf tournament benefiting its Neighborhood Revitalization Program.

April 2011Power Design teamed up with Brighton Collectibles and Soles4Souls in a shoe drive to provide footwear to the victims of the earthquake in Japan. More than 500 pairs of shoes were donated for this effort.

April 2011Power Design sponsored the Dance Marathon event at the University of Florida, which benefited the Children's Miracle Network and Shands Children's Hospital. In this event, more than 800 student "dancers" stayed awake and on their feet for 26 hours. |

April 2011Power Design provided sponsorship for Hardin Construction’s annual March of Dimes memorial golf tournament in Woodstock, Ga. The mission of the March of Dimes is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality.

March 2011The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society hosted its annual Man & Woman of the Year event. Power Design provided a sponsorship for this event, which raised money to cure leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma, and to improve the quality of life for patients and their families.

March 2011Power Design employees participated in a golf tournament to benefit the South Florida chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis Society. The National Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society supports MS research and offers services and professional education programs for individuals with MS. The South Florida chapter serves more than 5,000 families.

October 2006 - 2010Power Design sponsors many of it's employees who participated in the 3-day Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Walk in Tampa Bay. Thousands of women and men come together each year to raise money and walk 60 miles to help end breast cancer one step at a time. |

October 2010Power Design formed a corporate team for the SPCA's 20th Annual 3K Pet Walk in St. Petersburg, FL. All proceeds will help the SPCA Tampa Bay continue to increase adoptions, provide 24-hour emergency medical care for sick and injured strays, investigate animal cruelty cases, and educate the public on the humane care of pets. Power Design was named the corporate challenge winner for 2010. |

September 2010Power Design was a Silver sponsor in Clark Realty's Clark CARES inaugural fishing tournament at the Westshore Yacht Club in Tampa Bay. The tournament benefited local military charities associated with MacDill Air Force Base. The CLARK Cares Foundation supports men, women, and families of all those who serve our country through charitable contribution programs. |

August 2010Power Design supported the Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary at Aja Channelside in downtown Tampa to help save wildlife after the oil spill in the Gulf. The Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary is the largest non-profit wild bird hospital in the United States and helps rehabilitate tens of thousands of birds every year. |

June 2010Power Design supported the University of Florida’s project RE-focus team in the Solar Decathlon Europe competition. The aim of the international competition is to advance knowledge on industrialized, sustainable homes, with a particular emphasis on high efficiency and energy self-sufficiency. The University of Florida was one of only two teams participating from the United States. |

June 2010Power Design and BJ&K Construction teamed up with ABC for the annual charity fishing tournament. Proceeds were donated to Children’s Harbor, who provide therapeutic services to children and families in crisis, a safe and nurturing environment for children in foster care, and advocacy within the child welfare system. |

May 2010Power Design teamed up with Balfour Beatty Construction in an annual golf tournament. Proceeds were donated to Florida Atlantic University’s education program. |

April 2010Power Design participated in the Hardin Construction 21st annual Atlanta Memorial golf tournament at Stone Mountain Golf Club. Power Design’s participation helped raise money for the March of Dimes, supporting programs in the community that help moms have healthy, full-term pregnancies. |

January 2010Power Design, in partnership with Investment Café, teamed up to donate a chartered plane to Caritas Christi Health Care clinicians, which was used for medical missions to Haiti. Upon arriving in Haiti, the clinicians used donated medical equipment and supplies to care for those in need. The plane transported the clinicians and medical supplies from Ft. Lauderdale and Tampa to Haiti and specifically to Cap Haitien, a city in the outlying areas in the north of the country. In addition to the Port Au Prince, the outlying areas were also devastated by the earthquake and these regions were the focus of Caritas Christi Health Care missions. |

November 2009Power Design recently teamed up with Hardin Construction to support CANstruction, a national event that brings together architecture, engineering and construction professionals to design and build structures completely out of canned foods. The event helps raise awareness about hunger in and all proceeds and cans are donated to the area food banks. Pictured right is The Very Hungry CANerpillar, which used almost 4,400 cans. |

October 2009Power Design participated in the University of Florida’s, M.E. Rinker Sr. School of Building Construction annual fishing tournament at Hula Bay Grill in Tampa Bay. The tournament helped raise money for the Endowed Professorship Program, an initiative to develop a construction services track in the Rinker School. Graduates of the program will be qualified to work for suppliers, testing labs, bonding and insurance companies. |

August 2009Power Design Resources recently donated $35,000 worth of lighting fixtures to the Chipola Baptist Association to help disaster relief projects throughout the Gulf Coast. These lighting fixtures will be used for residential homes and commercial buildings that are still recovering from past storms and disasters |

December 2008Power Design and WESCO teamed together and hosted a charity golf tournament in Tampa, Florida. The tournament raised over $15,000 benefiting the Make-A-Wish Foundation. |

May 2008Members of Power Design's South Florida team, in partnership with Current Builders, participated in the 2008 Habitat for Humanity Builders Blitz in Delray Beach, Florida. Power Design assisted in building two, single-family homes in 7 days. Power Design contributed over 90% of the electrical materials and installation needed for the project. |

May 2007 - 2008Over the past two consecutive years Power Design has sent many team members and customers to the Bahamas to participate in the Mike Schmidt Winner's Circle Fishing Tournament raising over $250,000 for the Cystic Fibrosis Fund. |
