    Job Description

    POSITION TITLE: Project Engineer
    REPORTS TO: Superintendent
    DEPARTMENT: Field

    Overview

    Manage the material on the jobsite and job trailer. Assist Project Superintendent with paperwork being submitted to the office such as change orders, release of materials, return of materials to vendor, back-charges

    POSITION OBJECTIVES

    To meet project specifications (public and/or private) in an efficient, safe and satisfactory way. Position should be treated as a training ground and should facilitate the employee to become a Project Superintendent once the employee has mastered their job duties and is deemed capable by the Project Superintendent, Regional Vice President and President of Power Design

    SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

    • Clean Job Site- Responsible to ensure that the job site is clean. Ensure all scrap material is properly disposed of.
    • Receiving Material- Receive all Power Design, Inc. material deliveries. Count the materials delivered and ensure that all material listed on the packing slip agrees with the material that the vendor delivered and the purchase order.
    • Material Handling and Storage- Responsible for managing all material on the job site and in the job site trailer.
    • Job tools- Accumulate all job tools at the end of the day and properly secure them in the job site trailer
    • Assist Project Superintendent- Assist Project Superintendent with any paperwork that needs to be submitted to the office or vendor, such as change orders, return of material forms, back charges, purchase orders, timesheets, etc.
    • Safety- Cooperate with the Human Resources Department being knowledgeable as to all aspects of EEO and Safety Responsibilities. Comply with these requirements and insist upon compliance among all subordinates.
    • Customer Relationship- Maintain a good working relationship with the general contractor, engineers, inspectors, and customers to facilitate job progress and to promote a positive company image.
    • Daily Log- Maintain a daily log recording important conversations and events that could be used for future reference. Also maintain a daily open items list.
    • Time Sheets- Ensure that weekly Time Sheets are properly completed and submitted to the office

    Included But Not Limited To:

    • 6 months to 2 years with assisting the management of a project
    • Bachelor Degree required, Degree in Construction Management preferred.
    • Non-smoker
