How Did You Get Hired?

A friend who works for Power Design told me about the trainee program for project managers. I was working for a contractor at the time and was looking to advance my career. As soon as I met the team here and saw the type of projects I'd be working on, I knew this was the place for me. Power Design even assisted in relocating my family to St. Petersburg, FL, to work at corporate headquarters.

Career Highlights

  • Managing five high-rise projects in major cities.
  • Meeting with general contractors to ensure that their scope and scheduling expectations are being met.
  • Working with highly experienced jobsite teams, which has helped to build my technical and management skills.
  • Facilitating the change order process with customers, procuring jobsite material, and reviewing plans and specs.
  • Building lasting relationships with customers, vendors and installation teams.

What’s Your Career Path?

I've been attending weekly training sessions on negotiation, management and communication skills to be an effective project Manager. I also have the opportunity to take classes on a variety of of industry-related topics. Right now, I'm on track to become a senior project manager.
