Power Design came onto the job site after the superstructure was already complete and dried-in, and through extensive site surveys as well as 3D coordination and clash detection, we were able to eliminate more than 750 clashes with the mechanical systems and add value on a tight schedule.

CoreSite

Reston, VA
Power Design recently completed a 45,000 square foot build-out project of CoreSite's northern Virginia data center, a Tier 4 center designed to meet the stringent security requirements of the government.  The project included CCTV surveillance and biometric access control.  The build-out consisted of installing new UPS (uninterruptible power supply) distribution units, lighting, grounding, computer cooling systems and emergency shutoff systems.

• The electrical work on the CoreSite project was closely integrated with the fiber cabling, mechanical work, and sprinkler and fire detection systems.
• Proper planning enabled Power Design to find and eliminate potential conflicts between the systems early on.

Florida Atlantic University Innovation Village

Power Design partnered with Balfour Beatty Construction on Florida Atlantic University (FAU) Innovation Village in Boca Raton, FL. Innovation Village is a housing, recreation and retail complex that includes student residence halls, shopping and dining establishments. The 375 unit project opened in May 2011.

Power Design participated in a complete 3D coordination process with Balfour Beatty and the mechanical and plumbing trades.

Camp Allen

Norfolk, VA
Power Design and Tompkins Builders have completed construction on Camp Allen, a new living quarters for U.S. Navy personnel in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia. This worthwhile project is a public/private venture between the Department of Defense and Hunt Building Company, Ltd and is scheduled for completion by May 2010.

• Because there are tenants already living on site in some of the units, there was a heightened awareness about safety protocol.
• Storing and transporting materials and equipment to and from the building required meticulous planning and field coordination.

   

One Thousand Ocean

Boca Raton, FL
Power Design has teamed with Pavarini Construction on One Thousand Ocean. Located steps from the Atlantic Ocean, this project offers 52 grand residences on the grounds of the legendary Boca Raton Resort & Club. Each individual unit will be built out as a custom unit with the owner.

Power Design installed over 100,000 feet of conduit for the security and low voltage system alone.

Siena Park

Arlington, VA
Power Design broke ground with Paradigm Construction in fall 2007 on Siena Park, an upscale six-story mid-rise project featuring 188 units.

• This site is directly adjacent to another one of Power Design’s projects, Penrose Square. Both projects will be anchored by a new 64,000 square foot Giant store.
• The parking structure is also the support structure for the building and a roadway is designed to allow traffic to drive over the first four levels of the garage.

Trump Hollywood

Hollywood, FL
Power Design teamed with Coastal Construction on Trump Hollywood, a luxury condominium residence development by Donald Trump and Jorge Perez, of the Related Group of Florida.

• Standing 41 floors high above the coastline, the 200 units range from 2,000 to 5,000 square feet.
• The smoke evacuation system was a complex installation that included more than 1,000 man hours in engineering and mechanical coordination.

Jade Ocean

Power Design teamed with Coscan Construction on Jade Ocean, one of South Florida’s finest waterside condominiums. Its name “Jade Ocean” symbolizes the jade-colored beaches on which the beautiful building sits.

• 51-story high-rise with 256 units
• Power Design illuminated an enormous waterfall feature that stands 75 feet high and over 120 feet wide with 80 lights, giving Jade Ocean a breath-taking appearance at night.

ZOM Austin

Austin, TX
Power Design has teamed with ZOM on Zom Austin, a luxury high-rise project located at the western edge of Austin's central business district.

• This project upheld a fast pace with a deck pour every six days and weather conditions ranging from rain to sleet storms.
• When illuminated, ZOM can be seen from twenty miles away.
