Florida Atlantic University Innovation Village

Boca Raton, FL
Power Design partnered with Balfour Beatty Construction on Florida Atlantic Universitys (FAU) Innovation Village in Boca Raton, FL. Innovation Village is a housing, recreation and retail complex that will include student residence halls, shopping and dining establishments. The 375 unit project is due to open in May 2011. Material deliveries have been limited to before 7:00 a.m. and from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. only.

Power Design is participating in a complete 3D coordination process with Balfour Beatty and the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) trades.

Mirador

Corpus Christi, TX
Power Design teamed with Andres Construction Services on Mirador in Corpus Christi, TX. This is Corpus Christi’s first and only life care retirement community. The 226 unit project is due to open in the summer of 2010.

• Andres is a LEED Accredited Professional, therefore, sustainable building applications will include techniques such as reclamation of gray water irrigation and utilization of natural light.
• Three systems are being installed – a nurse call, emergency call and patient wandering.

Embassy Suites

Houston, TX
Power Design teamed with Linbeck Construction on an Embassy Suites, in Houston, TX. The new, full-service hotel is located near the George R. Brown Convention Center, Hilton Americas, and Discovery Green Park and will feature 6,000 square feet of meeting space, a rooftop swimming pool, a restaurant, a street-level café and wine bar.

• As with working in any densely-populated area, parking, field offices, and especially material delivery and storage can create logistical challenges.
• Linbeck plans to administer a strict delivery schedule to maintain its fast track, 18-month schedule.

North Bethesda Market

Rockville, MD
Power Design teamed with Clark Construction on North Bethesda Market, also known as “NoBe,” on one of the Washington D.C. area’s most exciting and innovative urban concepts offering shopping, working, dining, and living experiences.

• Electrical scope of work encompasses a five-level parking garage, two elevated pools, a paseo pedestrian walk, numerous retail tenants, fountains, pavers, and landscaping throughout.
• Many sustainable practices have been incorporated into the project including plans for a green roof on the six-story residential building.

North Hills East

Raleigh, NC
Power Design has teamed with Fortune-Johnson on North Hills East, North Carolina's first true vertical mixed-use project. This project sets a great example for modern-day urbanism, by meeting the commercial demands of the nearby communities and creating a sense of place for its residents.

• Built on the former site of a 1967 mall.
• Trenching has exceeded eight feet in depth in multiple locations spanning close to 500 linear feet.
