A lot can happen in four years! For our Apprentices, it means thousands of hours spent learning a craft, gaining experience on jobsites and building the skills to turn an opportunity in the trades into a career.
And that journey never really stops at Power Design. As one class reaches the finish line, another is getting started – creating a cycle of learning and opportunities that keep the next generation of skilled tradespeople moving forward.
We recently celebrated 50 Apprentices who completed their four-year program, while welcoming our largest-ever incoming class of 84 Apprentices ready to begin theirs. Check out the video below to get a glimpse of the excitement:
For our graduates, there was plenty to celebrate. 18 have already earned their Journeyman license, 38 were recognized as Apprentice All-Stars, a distinction earned through strong grades, attendance, and job performance during their time in the program, and 16 earned a place in the Apprentice All-Star Hall of Fame, reserved for graduates who achieved All-Star status every year of their Apprenticeship.
And as we celebrated how far one class has come, another was just getting started.
This fall, 84 new Apprentices, our largest incoming class ever, officially committed to the Apprenticeship Program.
They kicked things off on the GRID with onboarding, hands-on training and team building before signing on the dotted line and heading to projects across the country.
Over the next four years, they’ll complete 8,000 hours of paid, on-the-job training while attending school. Along the way, they’ll build their knowledge of safety, theory and industry best practices with one major goal ahead: earning their license and building a career in the trades.
From the first day of training to the day they earn their license and beyond, every step forward helps build a stronger future for the skilled trades. We’re proud to keep creating opportunities for the next generation to learn, grow and build careers they can be proud of – and we can’t wait to see where these 84 Apprentices go from here!
