Let's Rough: Tough Rougher | THE TRADES 💥

Written by Power Design | May 9, 2025 1:36:25 PM

Putting our passions into action, competition style. We held our annual Tough Rougher event on the GRID, and this year, we added a little twist by including our prefabrication, mechanical, and plumbing teams, making this a full MEP competition — Tough Rougher, THE TRADES.

With more than $120,000 in grand cash prizes on the line, six Prefab pro teams and MEP masters showed up and showed out for their regions. Take a look ⬇️

We kicked off the fun at our prefab center in Palmetto, FL, where our teams assembled units and panels for our electrical teams to install during Tough Rougher on the GRID. While keeping time and quality control front of mind during their assemblies, these teams hustled to the finish line. Once the panels were loaded onto our fleet trucks and headed towards the GRID, our six MEP teams were fired up and ready to WIN.

2-person Plumbing teams entered their units first to set the stage for water supply and drainage. One hour into the competition, teams had the option to also send in their 3-person Mechanical teams. Once both Mechanical and Plumbing completed their rough-ins, it was time for Electrical to bring it home.

Our Safety and QC teams kept a close watch throughout the competition, ensuring everyone was safe and issuing penalty time for any process or PPE infractions. Once all trades had exited, our judges inspected each unit, keeping quality control and safety front of mind. Each team was scored based on safety, time, and quality.
