Paving the PowerU Way: '23 Signing Day - Power Design

Written by Power Design | Feb 3, 2023 5:00:00 AM

Here we grow again! Our #PDIFamily welcomed 27 apprentices to our federally accredited apprenticeship program, PowerU, during National Mentoring Month.

Signing Day is an exciting time for Power Design and the next generation of the workforce because it’s our chance to honor and celebrate these hardworking individuals and their commitment to their careers.

Our Senior Apprentice Instructor Ron Pelkey has a true passion for apprenticeship. “I have been doing this for 15 years and every Signing Day is exciting, as I have seen so many success stories.”

My successes are shared because when our apprentices succeed, I succeed – it’s my job to make sure they have that knowledge when entering the workforce.

Our people are our priority and through programs like PowerU, the future leaders of the workforce will learn from the best. By doing so, we challenge them to be their best by holding them accountable to top-notch job site performances and maintaining excellent grades.

“We have seen first-hand the differences our apprentices make on the job sites. From starting as first years to becoming foremen and superintendents, they help us transform the way we build our teams — they are our future super stars. Their success in this program allows Power Design to continue the development of our industry’s future workforce.”
Dane Gilbert| Senior Vice President

Power Design’s new PowerU class will join our more than 300 apprentices from coast-to-coast — all of which are leading the charge with a cutting-edge career in the trades.
