In the heart of Queens, just steps away from Citi Field, we are bringing a transformative vision to life at Willets Point — an 860,000-square-foot affordable housing development that includes over 880 units across two buildings. Ready to see how we delivered and installed a fully prefabricated electrical room in New York? Take a look.
Our success on this project was all about our electrical prefabrication and in-house distribution, which helped eliminate jobsite delays, reduce manpower requirements, and deliver a high-quality product with precision and speed. Our prefabrication and distribution center is located in Palmetto, Florida, where we collaborate with the project team on-site to assemble these panel boards accurately. As a result, when they arrive on-site, it’s as simple as plugging the equipment in.
Delivered by our very own fleet trucks, this major installation went off without a hitch – this was not only a major step for our prefab teams, but our field teams also. They worked together to coordinate timelines, schedules, and quality control processes, ensuring that things ran smoothly on site.
Project Superintendent and New York native, Itzik Cohen, saw the impact of a seamless prefab installation firsthand.
Coordination between Power Design Resource’s logistics team, project management, and field leadership was key to making it work. From material deliveries and storage to preordination of the installs, the teamwork was unmatched.
Willets Point is about to change the game for Queens – and not just about Mets Baseball at Citi Field. It marks the beginning of a larger community development initiative. With plans for affordable housing, assisted living, a school, a soccer stadium, and more, this project will redefine the neighborhood.
