In an industry that’s constantly evolving, staying ahead takes more than experience alone – it takes continued investment in the people doing the work each day.
Power Design continually invests in training and development opportunities for field leaders across the country. This year, that investment included bringing field superintendents and foremen together at the GRID for hands-on training, leadership development, and collaboration.
Construction moves fast. Projects span across states, teams work in different markets, and field leaders spend most of their time on jobsites, not just sitting behind desks. These annual meetings create an opportunity to step away from the day-to-day and focus on something just as important: development.
Over the course of the trainings, Power Design’s field leaders came together at the GRID to participate in sessions focused on leadership, safety, operations, communication, and best practices – all designed to help teams perform at the highest level on projects across the nation.
Bringing field teams into the heart of our operations gives them direct access to the people, processes, and resources supporting projects behind the scenes. It reinforces that while our teams may be spread across the country, they’re all part of one company working toward the same goals.
At Power Design, training is a foundational part of building careers that last. That commitment continues far beyond regional meetings – for both our field and office team members.
In Q1 alone, Power Design’s Learning & Development team delivered 241 training sessions and more than 755 hours of training, reaching over 3,650 attendees across field, office, and leadership teams. Altogether, those efforts generated more than 12,425 impact hours dedicated to professional growth and development.
New hires from more than 65 different job titles participated in onboarding boot camps at the GRID, while apprentices, field leaders, project engineers, and managers continued building technical and leadership skills through hands-on programs tailored to real project work.
Several new initiatives were launched during the quarter, including:
Every building, jobsite, and milestone starts with people. People willing to learn. People willing to teach. People willing to continue growing no matter how much experience they already have.
That’s what these trainings represent: an investment in the individuals leading projects, mentoring teams, solving problems, and helping shape the future of construction every single day. Because building great projects starts with building great people first.
