Ready, Set, LINK: We're 6 Months In! - Power Design

It’s no secret that we’re committed to doing whatever it takes to deliver the best results for our partners at Power Design. Beyond delivering PlusONE service to our customers, we’re dedicated to providing our employees with the best work experience possible by fostering a company culture that prioritizes a healthy work-life balance. Since the opening of the LINK — our distribution and prefabrication facility in Palmetto, FL — in early 2022, we’ve blended each of these passions to create a new approach to “warehouse” work that serves our employees just as well as it does our clients.

All 208,000 square feet of the LINK’s spaces were inspired by our desire to seek out ways to build better and do things differently. Through eliminating inconsistencies in the supply chain and minimizing labor on the job site, we’re able to provide faster installations and reduce material handling and waste – all while mitigating risk by safely storing and shipping materials directly from the LINK.

The LINK boasts the complete opposite of typical warehouse work, as it was designed to benefit and uplift employee well-being. The expansive space is home to open assembly areas and meeting rooms, classroom space for trainings, natural sunlight, inspiring mural art and large-scale photos of our employees, a cafeteria with communal tables for gathering, and outdoor green spaces for rest and relaxation. The biggest differentiator from other typical warehouse facilities is simple – it’s the work itself: full-time and non-seasonal, requiring no nights or weekends.

Power Design offers a variety of professional development opportunities at The LINK within the walls of our engaging classroom spaces. All employees have access to these free resources so they can have the ability to cross-functionally train and earn licenses to move into additional lines of work.

The LINK gives us a training ground. It's a place where apprentices can learn while going to school and production associates can come to gain knowledge, and decide if they want to go into our apprenticeship!

The LINK may be the latest addition to our mission of becoming our client’s most trusted partner while delivering unmatched performance, but it is nothing new to our ethos as a business. We are thrilled to expand our footprint here in the Tampa Bay region and contribute to the economic growth of our community while also providing quality jobs and sophisticated work.
