    Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills, and the ability to multitask – is that you? We’re on the hunt for a Mechanical (HVAC) technical instructor who will excel in a fast-paced work environment. Driven and knowledgeable, this experienced personality will deliver and manage the educational content for Power Design’s Apprenticeship Program. This role will thrive in a high-energy environment while working with a variety of subject matter experts (HR and IT partners, upper management, training team members, etc.) to design, develop, and manage the in-house program. The technical instructor will present training material in live and virtual classroom environments, bringing future generations of the #PDIFamily to the next level.

    Position Details/Responsibilities:

    • Design and manage the Apprenticeship Mechanical (HVAC) content based on organizational and employee development needs.
    • Perform interviews and consultation surveys with management to analyze training needs.
    • Work with training and external vendors to develop training content, manuals, and resources specific to individual apprentices.
    • Conduct instructor-led training (ILT) and virtual live training (VLT) courses.
    • Perform functions of instructional design including analyzing the learning need, designing and developing the learning solution, and evaluating the outcome.
    • Mentor students from all Power Design apprenticeship programs to ensure widespread success.
    • Represent Power Design in the community through trade advocacy and advancement efforts.
    • Work with learning design teams to create content and develop learning activities.
    • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.

    Here’s what we’re looking for:

    • An Active Mechanical (HVAC) or Plumbing license.
    • Must have 5 years of experience in mechanical (HVAC), including ductwork, refrigeration, pipefitting, hydraulics, etc. Supervisory experience in managing crews is preferred. .
    • Proficient knowledge of the IMC, IPC, and IBC, local codes, and construction safety requirements.
    • Excellent public speaking skills, including facilitating large groups.
    • Knowledge in designing strategies for projects including training, communication, and evaluation.
    • Skillful attention to detail, organization, and ability to multitask.
    • Ability to deliver results in a high-volume, fast-paced work environment with varying deadlines.
    • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
    • Experience with the development & delivery of instructor-led training a plus (classroom and hands-on).
    • Bilingual abilities preferred.
