You know what they say, good things take time, and that’s exactly what comes to mind when we talk about our very own federally-accredited PowerU Apprenticeship program. PowerU offers students looking to join the trades a top-of-the-line, four-year apprenticeship experience that includes hands-on learning on active job sites, collaboration both virtually and in person with their peers and instructors, and so much more.
Through this program, the future generation of the workforce is learning from the best of the best and learning how to do things the Power Design way.
Who better to learn about our apprenticeship program than from an apprentice himself: Jesse Bryan is a rising fourth-year apprentice with his eyes set on finishing this year strong and testing for his journeymen’s license. Why PowerU?
I feel like PowerU found me — when I found the benefits of school being paid for, on-the-job training, and my instructors being willing to work with me on my work-life balance, I knew I was in the right spot.
What have the last three years taught you?
You’re never done learning. Even once you think you’ve got it down and there isn’t anything more, you’re always able to learn from new experiences and those around you, and you must be willing to keep that open mind.
What does your future look like?
Once I graduate from PowerU, I’ll test for my journeymen’s license and hopefully continue growing my career with Power Design. Often you see guys leave thinking they’ll find something better, but Power Design invests in you and takes care of you, it’s the place to be.
What advice do you have for someone entering the trades?
The sky is the limit, take every opportunity and learn from it. Challenge yourself.
