Expertise
Design Process and Coordination
As cutting-edge artists grounded in technical mastery, our Lighting Design team blends creativity with precision to bring immersive visual experiences to life. Using tools like Revit, AutoCAD, InDesign, Bluebeam, Visual, AGi32, DiaLux, and VRay/Rhino—as well as custom-built applications and plug-ins—we produce accurate plans, specifications, and fully coordinated BIM models. Our workflows are fueled by both artistry and innovation, enabling us to craft detailed markups, provide real-time budgeting, and deliver photorealistic renderings that communicate design intent with clarity and emotion.

Expertise
Designing with Precision
Our Lighting Design team takes a hands-on, research-driven approach to every project—using light value studies, detailed mockups, and full-scale testing in our cutting-edge lighting lab to explore and refine design concepts. This process allows us to study how light interacts with materials, forms, and finishes in real-world conditions, ensuring our designs not only look beautiful on paper, but perform exactly as intended in the built environment.

Our Designers
As a specialized group within Power Design Engineering, the Lighting Design Studio delivers comprehensive architectural lighting services—including design, specification, documentation, and construction management for select projects.
Our team is made up of professional lighting designers with backgrounds in interior design, theatrical design, and architecture. We approach each project as artists, crafting dynamic and expressive lighting solutions tailored to the unique functional and emotional needs of every space. At the same time, being embedded within a full-service engineering firm gives us a deep understanding of constructibility, systems integration, and real-world constraints—ensuring our designs are not only inspiring but also practical and buildable.
We are highly experienced in cross-discipline coordination and fluent in 3D modeling through Revit, allowing us to collaborate seamlessly with architects, engineers, and contractors throughout all phases of a project. This combination of creativity, technical fluency, and constructibility insight makes our team uniquely positioned to bring lighting concepts to life with clarity and precision.
