About the Position
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Corporate Travel Program Manager to oversee and optimize our company’s travel program. This individual will be responsible for the administration, development, and continuous improvement of our corporate travel strategy, policies, tools, and vendor relationships.
This role will manage the day-to-day operations of our travel program, including direct oversight of the Travel Administrator (who handles bookings), and serve as the primary liaison with our third-party travel management company (TMC). The ideal candidate will ensure the travel program is cost-effective, efficient, compliant, and aligned with company goals.
Position Details/Responsibilities
- Program Oversight & Strategy
- Develop, manage, and continuously improve the corporate travel program, ensuring alignment with business needs and company policies.
- Evaluate and recommend travel technologies, tools, and systems that best support the organization’s goals.
- Maintain and update travel policies and ensure clear communication and compliance across the organization.
- Vendor & Partner Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact with the third-party travel management company.
- Work with Procurement to source, negotiate, and manage preferred supplier agreements (e.g., airlines, hotels, car rentals).
- Ensure negotiated deals are loaded into the system and available for employee use.
- Data Analysis & Reporting
- Pull, analyze, and report on travel data to identify cost-saving opportunities, compliance gaps, and usage trends.
- Track performance against negotiated contracts and ensure savings are realized and reported.
- Prepare and present regular travel spend and performance reports to leadership.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
- Collaborate with internal departments including Procurement, Finance, HR, and department leaders to support their travel needs.
- Communicate travel program updates, policy changes, and cost-saving initiatives to employees.
- Act as a resource for employee questions related to travel policy and tools.
- Team Management
- Supervise and support the Travel Administrator, ensuring smooth execution of day-to-day travel bookings and issue resolution.
- Provide guidance, training, and performance feedback as needed.
Here’s What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Finance, Hospitality, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in corporate travel management or a related field.
- Experience working with travel management companies and corporate travel tools/software.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret travel data and develop actionable insights.
- Excellent negotiation skills and experience working with Procurement on vendor contracts.
- Knowledge of travel technologies (e.g., online booking tools, expense platforms).
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and project management skills.
- Experience managing or supervising staff preferred.
- Experience with global or multi-regional travel programs.
- Familiarity with systems such as SAP Concur, Egencia, or other leading travel platforms.
- Certification in corporate travel (e.g., Global Business Travel Association certification) a plus.
