    Pink. Is. Powerful.

As the leading form of cancer, we or someone we love has been impacted by breast cancer and at Power Design, we’re no exception. That is why our #PDIFamily came together throughout the month of October to raise awareness and raise funds for the fight against breast cancer.

To kick off the month, our team did what all employees dream of doing – dunking their boss! Many of our senior and regional executives jumped in their bathing suits and then into a dunk tank while egging their teams on to dunk them – all for a good cause. Thanks to our teams (and their bosses), more than 500 balls were thrown, and several bosses made a splash, all while raising more than $6,500 for the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk benefiting the American Cancer Society.

Beyond fundraising, we interviewed familiar faces to find out the why behind their stride, including Jennifer Lubé, Freddie Dipietro and Joe Micallef.

“I lost my Mom to metastatic breast cancer a little over a year ago. She told everyone about her experience, telling women to get tested and to take it seriously. I was with her every step of the way – cancer took a grandmother from my children and the strongest, best mother in the world from me way too soon.” – Freddie Dipietro, Power Design’s SURGE Operations Director.

Real Men Wear Pink and Make Strides
It’s true. Joe Micallef, our Chief Operating Officer, led the charge as a Real Men Wear Pink ambassador. Encouraging our employees to wear pink, to purchase pink Power Design gear, and to donate to the walk, Joe kept our team engaged and focused throughout the month. When our Power Design employees’ feet hit the payment for the annual walk at the end of October, more than $11,600 was raised by our team to benefit the American Cancer Society.

We are #PDIProud of our team stepping up and stepping out to do what they do best – supporting each other and their community. Want to learn how you can Make Strides Against Breast Cancer? Click here. If you’re interested in joining a team who gives back in a big way, click here to apply.
