Power Design, Inc. Celebrates 25 Years as a Top National Electrical Contractor

Power Design, Inc., a national electrical contractor founded and based in St. Petersburg, Fla., celebrates its 25th anniversary this month. A business that began at a dining room table in 1989 has grown into a 70,000-square-foot facility, with more than 675 employees operating in 19 states across the country and accumulative revenue of $1.7 billion.

From the beginning, Power Design’s foundation was built on nonnegotiable values and the belief that long-term relationships would be essential to success. It wasn’t long before Power Design earned the reputation of “doing things differently”, implementing processes that made sense as opposed to what was customary or traditional.

I want to personally thank our dedicated employees, customers and business partners that have helped to make this vision possible.

    Mitch Permuy,

    CEO

It was that forward-thinking approach that enabled Power Design to maintain significant growth and success in an ever-changing construction climate, even during trying times. Rather than merely surviving the downturn, often referred to “The Great Recession”, Power Design proudly used this time to analyze and address areas for improvement. Major accomplishments that followed include the opening of a 12,000-square-foot training and evaluation center with jobsite simulations, along with best practices and leadership management initiatives.

“I want to personally thank our dedicated employees, customers and business partners that have helped to make this vision possible”, said Power Design CEO, Mitch Permuy. “We are committed to continued growth of our organization, holding strong to the principles that have guided us for the past 25 years.” As Power Design’s 25th anniversary month nears the end, the outlook remains bright, with more than 130 active projects and a record number of contract awards in 2014.
