Power Design's Chris Cyrille Takes the TEDx Stage

Cheering and applause could be heard down the hall, coming from a ballroom at the University of Florida campus, as the audience celebrated an insight-packed presentation by one of Power Design’s own.

Chris Cyrille, a Strategic Analyst, had just finished his mainstage presentation at the recent TEDxUF conference to discuss how personal empowerment and expression through style and fashion have positively affected his life. TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to sharing ideas from today’s leading thinkers and doers, while TEDx is an event created to bring local communities together to share experiences that spark deep discussions and human connections.

You may recognize Chris from our Mental Health Awareness Month blog, where he discussed his mental health journey alongside other Power Design employees. This time, Chris has taken to the TEDxUF stage to discuss how style has helped him stitch hope into his everyday life, express himself, and become more confident.

What we wear is who we are and how we express ourselves. Your style has the power to transform your life.

As discussed by Chris during his TEDxUF speech, creating your own style is empowering – it gives you the artistic freedom to express how you want the rest of the world to see you and how you want to see yourself. Chris explains how style has a large impact on our lives and has the potential to increase our confidence and self-assurance.
