Celebrating Women, On and Off the Field 🏈

At Power Design, empowering women in construction isn’t a campaign; it’s a commitment woven into how we recruit, develop, and champion the next generation of leaders. From our Women’s Leadership Council to mentorship programs and industry involvement, we’re focused on building a future where more women thrive across the trades, engineering, design, and corporate fields.

So when our team attended Sunday’s She Is Football game, hosted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, it naturally aligned with the work we do every day: creating more opportunities for women to lead. The event is designed to “develop the next generation of female leaders through the power of sport” and highlights women throughout every stage of the game experience.

    Bringing Women Leaders Together

To mark the occasion, members of our Women’s Leadership Council and their mentees spent the afternoon together in the Power Design suite at Raymond James Stadium — a chance to strengthen relationships, share experiences, and celebrate the momentum women are creating across our organization.

In recent months, we’ve continued to build on our long-standing commitment to women in the industry with Women in Construction Week panels, company-wide women’s networking events, and dedicated mentor-guidance sessions that support growth across every career path. Sunday’s event brought that energy to life, uniting women from across the company to champion one another and keep pushing the industry forward.

    Honoring Women Who Serve

As part of our ongoing commitment to honoring veterans, we were proud to recognize Executive Assistant Adrienne Thornton-Turner as our Power Design Hero of the Game.

Specialist Thornton-Turner served five years in the U.S. Army as a Human Resources Specialist, supporting company and battalion leadership and managing personnel readiness for more than 100 soldiers. Her awards include the Army Commendation Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and the Army Service Ribbon.

Her recognition is a reminder that women lead, serve, and protect in ways that strengthen both our communities and our nation – and that leadership comes in many forms.

Cheering On Our Own at Halftime

The celebration continued at halftime, when two of our own team members and former Tampa Bay Buccaneers Cheerleaders, Executive Representative Julia Wilson and Executive Assistant Talyn Mariani, returned to the field for a special anniversary performance.

For many of the WLC mentors and mentees watching from the suite, seeing colleagues take the field wasn’t just a highlight of the game, it was a powerful example of the diverse paths, passions, and talents women bring to Power Design every day.

    Looking Ahead

Sunday’s She Is Football event captured what we believe in as a company: women lifting one another up, leading with confidence, and redefining what’s possible in our industry and beyond. As Power Design continues to invest in mentorship, leadership development, and opportunities for women across all roles, we can’t wait to see how they continue to rise, lead, and break through every ceiling – glass or otherwise.
