About the Position…
The Plumbing Quality Control (QC) Specialist will conduct independent audits to evaluate and improve productivity, quality, and customer relations across all Power Design plumbing projects. This role is responsible for ensuring plumbing systems are installed in accordance with company standards, contract documents, and applicable codes, while consistently delivering high-quality results that meet and exceed customer expectations.
Position Details/Responsibilities…
- Prepare for evaluations by gathering and reviewing plumbing contract documents, specifications, reports, and coordination drawings; meet with key project personnel to understand project scope and conditions.
- Execute quality control audits across all plumbing scopes to verify installations meet company standards, code requirements, and project expectations.
- Identify, document, and communicate deficiencies or areas needing improvement, including code compliance, installation quality, and coordination issues.
- Provide field guidance and training on plumbing installation methods, best practices, and quality expectations to project teams when needed.
- Serve as a quality resource to Project Superintendents and Foremen, maintaining a positive and solutions-oriented approach.
- Deliver clear, accurate, and concise evaluation reports with detailed photo documentation.
- Communicate with customers before, during, and after site visits to review progress, address concerns, and ensure satisfaction.
- Collaborate with executive management and project teams to present findings and recommend corrective actions and process improvements.
- Maintain independence and objectivity by providing impartial and unbiased evaluations.
- Keep accurate, organized documentation of all inspections, reports, and communications.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Here’s What We’re Looking For…
- Strong knowledge of multi-family plumbing systems and applicable codes, including IPC, local/state plumbing codes, and NCCER standards.
- Experience with systems such as domestic water, sanitary/storm drainage, gas piping, and specialty plumbing systems.
- Familiarity with mechanical systems (HVAC/hydronic) is a plus for cross-scope coordination.
- 8–10 years of plumbing field experience, preferably in multi-family or commercial construction.
- Journeyman Plumber license required; Master Plumber license preferred.
- Highly detail-oriented with a strong commitment to quality and craftsmanship.
- Ability to travel up to 50%.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Ability to effectively engage with all levels of the organization, from field teams to executive leadership.
