Tough Rougher: How We Build — Put to the Test

With more than $120,000 in prizes on the line, the competition brought together six teams across Prefabrication and MEP to go head-to-head in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.

The competition kicked off at the LINK, where our Prefabrication teams built the panels that would ultimately support the full MEP install. This phase mirrors how we approach projects in the field. By standardizing and assembling components ahead of time, teams can reduce rework, improve quality, and accelerate schedules once on site.

From there, the competition moved to CAMP, where MEP teams took over to complete the full rough-in. Instead of operating in silos, each trade works together with shared accountability from start to finish.

With Safety and Quality Control teams evaluating every step, there was no room for shortcuts. The final inspection was about delivering a complete, high-quality product.

What played out during Tough Rougher reflects what our partners experience on projects coast-to-coast. A multi-trade approach means fewer handoffs and streamlined coordination to reduce risk, eliminate scope gaps, and keep projects moving forward.

By aligning Prefabrication with field execution with Electrical, Mechanical, and Plumbing teams, we’re able to deliver consistency. This is what it looks like when teams are aligned and ready to execute — it’s how we approach every project, and what sets us apart on the jobsite.
