Taking Mechanical to the Next Level ðŸ“ˆ

How do we take our award-winning mechanical and plumbing divisions to the next level? By bringing in a more than 28-year mechanical veteran to lead the team.

Power Design’s newest, vice president, Jason Heffelmire will use his more than 28 years of mechanical and engineering experience to expand our mechanical and plumbing divisions as Power Design sets out to bring even more complex and innovative projects to life.

We sat down with Jason to learn about our newest leader and the experience that has led him to where he is today as Power Design’s Vice President of Mechanical.

What are you most excited about in joining Power Design?

"I've watched Power Design for quite some time now having worked with them in the past, and I've always been impressed with how the company operates. Construction hasn't always embraced innovation, but Power Design has capitalized on those opportunities to discover solutions and stay ahead of the challenges our industry has experienced. I'm excited to have the opportunity to not only go behind the curtain and learn the keys to our sustained success but to also be an integral part of the company's future growth and diversification."

How did you get your start in construction?

"I grew up in construction working for my father's mechanical contracting business. From organizing the warehouse when I was 13 years old and doing take-offs on the coffee table to learning sheet metal fabrication and running field crews, the industry has been in my DNA for as long as I can remember. I continued to gain experience with my father's firm throughout high school and college, working during summers to supervise production until earning my engineering degree."

What has your career looked like leading up to Power Design?

"After graduating from college, I learned the engineering and design side of the business for a few years and obtained my Professional Engineer license before rejoining my father's company as VP/Chief Operating Officer in 2004. Starting in 2011, I worked more on the consulting and design divisions of mechanical engineering across the nation, but I've always felt like I had unfinished business on the contracting side of the industry. In a way, joining Power Design feels like I'm picking up where I left off to help us build the best mechanical and plumbing teams in the business."
