When Impact Hits Close to Home

Supporting the communities we work in is part of who we are, but sometimes that impact hits closer to home.

For Data Visualization Analyst Allyson Garcia, the mission became deeply personal when her niece, Gia, faced a life-threatening emergency. In the middle of an incredibly uncertain time, her family found care, compassion, and support at Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital.

Not long after, Allyson had the opportunity to give back in a meaningful way through Power Design’s Pirates and Pitmasters event – a team competition hosted on the GRID where employees compete for the chance to direct a donation to a nonprofit of their choosing.

With the support of her teammates, Allyson helped win a $10,000 donation to the hospital that had been there for her family when it mattered most – a moment that brought everything full circle.
