For 20 years, PDR has been raising the bar on what a lighting partner should be. We started with three project managers, a bookshelf full of catalogs, and highlighters on the shop drawings. Today, we’re a 60+ person certified team operating from a 360K sq. ft. distribution center with our own semi transportation fleet—supplying fixtures nationwide and setting the pace for the industry.
We sat down with our Director of Strategic Accounts, Kim Hill, to get a behind-the-scenes look at what really differentiates Power Design Resources from others – from strategic sourcing and quality control to dedicated team members that uphold brand standards and work with cross-functional teams at Power Design to deliver a seamless project to our partners. What separates us from other fixture distributors? We step in early with specifiers, tapping into 1,100+ global suppliers to deliver excellence to our customers. We engineer smart packages that hit budget, code, and design intent while keeping aesthetics and quality top of mind. We deliver custom fixtures at scale and develop client packages while adhering to our partners’ brand standards. We also conduct intensive quality control checks for every fixture before it ever hits the jobsite.
We recognized issues arising from incorrect materials, delayed shipping, and damaged products, so we took matters into our own hands. What does our quality control look like? Checks at each point of the logistics process, from receiving, pulling, packing, and delivery to the jobsite. Our distribution services also include kitting per unit, as-needed JIT delivery, weekly status reporting, and a dedicated Lighting Project Manager who oversees the entire project.
At Power Design Resources, we pride ourselves on that white-glove level of service. Our lighting consultant and project management teams do an excellent job of understanding a project-- the various scopes, applications, code requirements, and what's important to the customer. Add to this the collaboration with all parties to ensure, in the end, that we deliver a top-notch product.
