In 1989, Power Design started as a small electrical contractor in a St. Petersburg home garage. Still family-owned, we’re now a nationwide force changing how projects get built—carrying forward the same values that shaped our very first projects.
What began as a successful single-trade firm has evolved into an integrated operation spanning MEP construction, systems technologies, engineering and design, lighting and fixtures distribution, manufacturing, prefabrication, and more, all under one roof.
With nearly 2,000 completed projects across 28 states, a 0.48 EMR safety rating—less than half the industry average of 1.0—a record $1.9M in community giving last year, and national recognition as a Top Workplace and MEP Giant, our story is one of steady, strategic growth and serious impact.

Mechanical & Plumbing
We built our mechanical division the same way we build everything—from the ground up.
What started eight years ago as an extension of our engineering team has become a full-scale, nationwide mechanical and plumbing operation constructing some of the most complex multi-trade projects in the country.
By bringing these scopes under one roof, we’ve eliminated finger-pointing between trades and brought collaboration, quality, and speed to the forefront. From refrigerant-based systems to full hydronic builds, our teams deliver consistent, coordinated excellence—driven by a shared mission.
And we’re not just building systems, we’re building talent. With a fully accredited apprenticeship program and hands-on training labs, we’re growing the next generation of mechanical and plumbing professionals in-house—ensuring every system we build is backed by skill, reliability, and the Power Design standard.
Engineering & Design

Named a Top Design Firm by ENR, a 2025 MEP Giant by CSE and EATON, and ranked among EC&M’s Top 40 Electrical Design Firms, our 177 design professionals bring unmatched agility and expertise to every project. In 2024 alone, we designed over 32 million square feet of space.
From MEP engineering and lighting design to life safety, sustainability, and smart-building technology, our engineers are designing the future—powered by BIM modeling, 3D tools, and data-driven insights that keep projects moving fast and without compromise.

Lighting & Fixtures Distribution
Fixtures can make or break a project, and so can supply chains logistics.
That’s why we brought lighting design and fixtures distribution in-house, giving our partners one point of contact from concept to installation—eliminating middlemen and ensuring every fixture meets spec, schedule, and standard.
With trusted relationships built over the past 20 years, our team sources lighting and fixtures from a global network of 1,100+ suppliers—ensuring the right balance of design, aesthetics, function, budget, and speed. By managing procurement and distribution in-house, we validate materials long before the first fixture hits the jobsite.
At our 152,000 sq. ft. BASE distribution facility, every fixture is received, inspected, and kitted by floor and unit—supporting cleaner job sites, shorter timelines, and higher-quality outcomes.
With 99% inventory accuracy and 99% on-time delivery, we’re redefining what reliability looks like in construction supply chain management.
Specialty Manufacturing & Prefab
When uncertainty threatened project timelines, we built stability.
Our LFG Specialty Manufacturing Division was created to take control of production, quality, and timing—starting with our own UL-certified custom switchboards and now extending to transformers, panelboards, enclosures, and more. Designed and built in-house by our expert team, these products give partners confidence in both quality and performance. UL certification not only ensures every product meets the highest standards, but also speeds installation on the jobsite, keeping projects moving.
From prefabrication to delivery, our teams manage every detail with precision—packing, crating, kitting, and shipping materials while providing 24/7 tracking and strict QA checks. Our advanced prefab capabilities and dedicated transportation fleet give partners visibility and confidence. With reliability built in, risk is always kept out of every step—ensuring projects stay on track and on budget.
Special Ops
Every build faces the unexpected. That’s where our Special Operations Division comes in.
This elite team of 320 multi-trade professionals can mobilize nationwide within 72 hours—stepping in to support projects when other subcontractors fall short, tackle complex site issues, or provide critical assistance for partners who need extra resources.
Whether accelerating a delayed timeline, resolving site issues, or stepping in when others can’t complete the work, Special Ops delivers proven results under pressure. With an industry-low 0.48 EMR and unlimited bonding capacity, we bring the same trust and precision that define every division of Power Design.
