About the Position
The Audio Visual Engineer designs, implements, and maintains audiovisual systems to support Power Design’s internal and external technology needs. This role is responsible for the design, installation, configuration, and support of AV hardware and software, ensuring seamless operation across conference rooms, training facilities, and corporate spaces. The Audio Visual Engineer collaborates closely with IT, Facilities, and end users to deliver high-quality, innovative AV experiences aligned with Power Design’s operational goals.
Position Responsibilities
- Design and engineer integrated audiovisual systems for corporate, conference, and training environments.
- Oversee installation, configuration, and maintenance of AV hardware, including displays, sound systems, microphones, control systems, and networked AV devices.
- Develop technical documentation such as system schematics, wiring diagrams, and rack layouts.
- Support end users with troubleshooting, system calibration, and software updates.
- Collaborate with vendors and contractors to coordinate installations and ensure adherence to specifications.
- Maintain asset inventory and perform preventative maintenance on AV systems.
- Provide training and documentation to employees on AV systems and conferencing tools.
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging AV technologies to recommend enhancements.

Here’s What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or related field; equivalent experience accepted.
- 3+ years of experience designing, installing, and supporting AV systems.
- Proficiency with control systems (Crestron, Extron, or similar) and conferencing platforms (Zoom, Teams, WebEx).
- Knowledge of networked AV systems, signal flow, and digital video distribution (HDBaseT, Dante, etc.).
- Experience using CAD or AV design tools preferred.
- Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.
- Industry certifications such as CTS, CTS-D, or equivalent professional certifications.
