About the Position
Ready to set the standard for quality in electrical manufacturing? We’re looking for a senior leader to own quality control and regulatory compliance across Power Design’s custom-built electrical distribution equipment, including UL 891 switchboards and UL 67 panelboards.
This role serves as the independent authority for product quality, UL compliance, and ISO 9001 governance, ensuring products are audit-ready, compliant, and safe from design through final release.
Position Responsibilities
Own and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) in alignment with ISO 9001:2015
Enforce QC independence, including stop-work authority and final product release approval
Serve as the primary liaison with UL Follow-Up Services, AHJs, and customer auditors
Ensure compliance with UL 891, UL 67, NEC, and applicable regulatory standards
Establish and approve inspection criteria, test methods, and quality procedures
Oversee in-process and final inspections and control final product acceptance
Manage nonconforming output, including disposition decisions and customer deviation approvals
Lead root cause analysis, CAPA, and continuous improvement initiatives
Chair Management Review meetings and report quality metrics to leadership
Lead, develop, and qualify Quality Control personnel
Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Operations to proactively manage compliance risk
Here’s What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, or a related field
8–12+ years of progressive quality or compliance leadership experience
Strong working knowledge of UL 891, UL 67, UL Follow-Up Services, NEC, and ISO 9001
Direct experience leading UL, ISO, and customer audits
Proven authority in quality decision-making within a manufacturing environment
Strong executive-level communication and audit presence
High integrity with the confidence to enforce quality standards under pressure
Data-driven approach to defect prevention and continuous improvement
Ability to balance operational demands with uncompromising compliance
