About the Position
Are you ready to ensure the quality and reliability of products that power the future of electrical distribution? We’re looking for a Quality Control Specialist to inspect, test, and verify the performance of Power Design’s custom-built electrical distribution panels, switchboards, and assemblies. In this role, you’ll ensure every product meets strict UL 891 standards, engineering specifications, and our commitment to excellence before it leaves the facility.

The Specialty Manufacturing division supports this mission by producing high-performance, custom electrical equipment with a focus on quality, safety, and precision.
Position Responsibilities
- Perform inspections and testing on UL 891 electrical panels, switchboards, and assemblies to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, schematics, and quality standards.
- Conduct electrical testing, including hipot, continuity, and functional tests, to confirm product safety and reliability.
- Verify wiring accuracy, labeling, torque settings, and mechanical assembly meet UL, NEC, and company specifications.
- Use quality control checklists and documentation systems to record test data, report defects, and support corrective actions.
- Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and Testing teams to resolve quality issues and drive continuous improvement.
- Maintain accurate inspection records and ensure traceability of test results and materials.
- Support process improvements that enhance product quality, efficiency, and manufacturability.
- Ensure adherence to Power Design’s safety standards, UL requirements, and manufacturing procedures.
Here’s What We’re Looking For
- Experience working with electrical distribution equipment, switchgear, panelboards, or similar products in a manufacturing environment.
- Understanding of UL 891 standards, electrical testing methods, and quality control processes.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and mechanical blueprints.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving mindset, and commitment to product integrity.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills across production, engineering, and leadership teams.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with high standards and tight deadlines.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Frequent bending, reaching, and working with tools or electrical components.
