    About the Position

    Work hard, play hard is not just a saying at Power Design, it’s a way of life. And no team know that more than our Event Experience team. We’re looking for a creative, organized, and passionate planner to join us as an Event Experience Intern, helping execute high-energy celebrations for our #PDIFamily this summer.

    From amusement park takeovers and NFL draft-style celebrations to company town halls and food truck rallies, the Event Experience Intern will gain ten weeks of hands-on experience supporting memory-making employee events. Located at our headquarters in St. Petersburg, Florida, this internship sits within the SOURCE department (formerly known as HR) and is crucial in driving the Power Design experience that has earned us Top Workplaces awards for over a decade.

    Position Responsibilities

    • Support the Event Experience team in the execution of meetings, events, and trainings ranging from 25 to 3,000 employees across the country
    • Contribute to event development and coordination, working with internal and external vendors to execute event food and beverage, décor, layouts, rentals, audio visual, and activations
    • Provide day-of event coordination and support, including but not limited to, event setup, overseeing vendor load-in, employee check-ins, etc.
    • Assist with attendee management, including coordinating rooming lists, event invites, RSVPs, and transportation logistics
    • Collaborate with Marketing and Communications teams to design and print event materials, including name badges, collateral, banners, signage, etc.
    • Work with internal Recognition & Rewards to procure and distribute event swag, apparel, and giveaways
    • When needed, assist with coordination of employee programs and community impact initiatives

    Here’s What We’re Looking For

    • Must be enrolled in an accredited, four-year college or university (concentration in Event Management, Hospitality, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field preferred)
    • Prior experience in event planning and management, with portfolio examples
    • Strong organization skills with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities
    • Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and excellence
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • High level of professionalism and customer service orientation
    • The role may require working evenings, weekends, and holidays to support event schedules
    • Some physical activity may be required for event setup and breakdown
