About the position...
As a BIM Specialist I at Power Design, you’ll move beyond needing detailed red-line drawings and begin contributing more independently to the design process. Working closely with the Prefab Design Manager and Prefab Project Management Team, you’ll help create high-quality prefabricated dwelling unit drawing packages that drive production in our prefabrication shop and support efficient field installation. These drawings will reflect the design intent and align with constructability standards and PDI Best Practices. Success in this role means being adaptable to changing project schedules and information flow, while consistently delivering accurate, on-time installation drawings with minimal oversight.
position details and responsibilities...
- Understand and Apply Power Design’s AutoCAD and/or Revit Standards into each Roughbook drawing design.
- Work with Prefab Best Practices & QC Processes to understand how they relate to all drawings.
- Work with Prefab Design Manager to ensure all required information is available to create Unit Rough Packages
- Apply all applicable NEC Articles 110, 210, 310 & 314 that apply to Dwelling Units
- Apply working knowledge of building types & electrical installation requirements within a dwelling unit.
- Assist on the updating Panel Schedules and Prefab Breakdown Books in collaboration with the latest approved Engineering of Record Drawings
- Ability to create Prefab Unit Roughbook packages under direct supervision.
- Understand construction principles as it relates to all MEP trades within a Dwelling Space
- Add Prefabrication device nomenclature, device ID and assembly codes to each design drawing.

- Understanding of AutoCAD, Revit MEP, Navisworks, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Microsoft Office, and Bluebeam
- High School Diploma/GED
- 0-3 years of experience
